This design feature the 5000th Lockheed P-38 Lightning built. Painted bright vermilion red with the famous YIPPEE on the underside of the wings whilst also featuring the signatures of hundreds of factory workers.
This aircraft was used by a handful of Lockheed test pilots in flight demonstrations performing such stunts as single engine low level slow rolls to dispel the myth that the P-38 was unmanageable.
Featured in this designs is also the P-38 war time poster slogan "So it's a fight they want?"
